Kim is a flautist studying at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under William Dowdall and Sinéad Farrell culminating in a Bachelor of Music Performance degree. Kim has had a great passion for music from a very young age, starting the flute at just six years old and studying with Lynda Maloney at Leeson Park School of Music. She completed her grade exams with Trinity Guildhall and went on to be awarded the ATCL Diploma in 2017.

Kim has been a member of many ensembles and orchestras. She was part of the Leeson Park Senior Flute ensemble up to the age of 16. They won first prize in the Feis Ceoil Chamber Music Cup in 2013.

Kim was part of Dublin Youth Orchestra for five years. In 2020 she played principal flute on their tour to Leuven, Belgium. Kim has also been a part of the IAYO Festival Orchestra and has performed in RIAM’s Big Flute Festival. She is currently a part of RIAM Philharmonia, who have played with a range of well-known conductors including Gerhard Markson, Michel Galante, Mihhail Gerts and Chloé van Soeterstede.

Kim has been a prize winner in several competitions, including the Leeson Park Festival, Wesley Music Festival and Newpark Music Festival. Most recently, she won the Feis Ceoil Senior Flute Cup in 2022. Kim has also taken part in masterclasses with world renowned musicians such as William Bennett, Jaime Martin, Patricia Morris, and Christian Elliot.
