David is currently in his fourth year of his BMus degree in the MTU Cork School of Music, studying French horn under Sean Clinch.

David joined Banna Chluain Meala in 2011 where he was first introduced to French horn. He began his studies with Liam Daly from 2016-2019. During this time, he competed in Féile Luimní where he was awarded gold for the senior horn category and won the Instrumental 2018 Bursary for the most promising player in the woodwind and brass category.

Over the years David has played with many ensembles. These include Limerick Wind Ensemble under Robert Houlihan, Irish Youth Wind Ensemble under Ronan O’Reilly, the Cork School of Music Symphony Orchestra under Connor Palliser, the UL Orchestra under Liam Daly, the Cork Concert Orchestra under David Brophy and the Cross Border Orchestra under Greg Beardsell. David has also played in America during his time with Banna Chluain Meala.

Currently David is a member of CSM Symphony Orchestra, Clonmel Concert Band, Cork Philharmonic Winds, Cork Concert Orchestra, Irish Youth Wind Ensemble and Eskers Festival Orchestra. In July 2022, he received Masterclasses from Stefan Dohr, the principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Mathias Piñeira, the principal horn of the Münchner Philharmoniker at the Alicante Brass Academy.
