Gavin Hodson studied at TU Dublin Conservatoire, completing his BMus (Performance) degree in 2023, achieving a First Class Honours, under the guidance of Kevin Hanafin.
Gavin is a member of the Defence Forces School of Music and was posted to the Army No. 1 Band, upon enlistment in 2018. He began his musical studies as a saxophonist and percussionist in the Artane School of Music, where he had opportunities to perform in stadiums across Ireland, the SSE Arena, Belfast and the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow, as well as at home in the National Concert Hall. Gavin has also performed with the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble, Dublin Youth Orchestra and the TU Dublin Wind Ensemble. He has competed in the Feis Ceoil, winning both the junior and senior saxophone competitions. Alongside his classical music career, Gavin performs the saxophone in a modern music setting, working with bands and DJs, performing in venues across Ireland, with highlights being the 3Arena and the RDS. |
