In Remembrance of Jane Carty

We were saddened and shocked to learn of the passing of Jane Carty on 3rd August. Jane has been associated with the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition since its inception in 2010, as Patron, Artistic Director and Chair of the Jury. Under Jane’s guidance, the competition has acquired a paramount position in Ireland, and become widely known and respected throughout Europe. Jane’s reputation was such that she managed to assemble juries of musicians of the very highest international standard, thus cementing the status of the competition. Our competition winners have gone on to carve successful careers, many becoming international artists of great repute. The Grand Lodge of Ireland owes Jane a great debt of gratitude for her unswerving dedication to promoting the talents of young musicians in Ireland and will continue to support this important annual event in her memory.
